“Let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God…”
— Doctrine & Covenants

Dear Friends and Family:

Narelle and I have found over the course of many years that discouragement, low self esteem, diminished hope and enthusiasm and even a loss of spiritual power are similar to the day gradually turning to night, without one’s ability to discern any particular moment of “hey, it’s dark!”

The secret of confidence and effective living is to flood your mind and hearth with light so that whether it’s day or night, or whether things are going your way or not, the sun is always shining inside you. Stay filled with light!

We hope you enjoy some of our favorite talks, videos and thoughts.

Love, John and Narelle

Happy Billionaires
I heard once of a a study- interviews with a multitude of billionaires, but not just billionaires - happy billionaires. Not surprisingly, one startling common denominator was their willingness to sharpen their saw. These people spent an average of 90 minutes, each morning, on actions such as listed above. It’s easy to conclude, “Well, they are billionaires. They have the time. They can do whatever they want. It’s probably the case, however, that it’s the other way around.

How many things did you get checked off your "to- do" list today? Sometimes, the most important things you do each day were never even on your list.

Faith-based inspirational videos

If you want to reverse your worry, you'll need to start at your source.

Kevin Worthen reminds us that we are defined by more than our grades, our major, or our social status. We are, most importantly, children of God.

Do you feel overwhelmed today? We all have times when we feel like we're surrounded by difficulties. It's easy to get discouraged and think, "I'll never get out of this trouble." But Joel wants to remind you-in the natural, all you may see is your troubles and obstacles, but take another look.

Because of Jesus, we can change for the better and experience complete joy.

Stop waiting for peace and start walking in it instead.

Many of us have wondered if God knows us or if He even exists. Todd was someone who made fun of people who thought God was real, and he wasn't surprised when he didn't get an immediate answer to a prayer. But could God be giving us small but obvious answers?

inspirational thoughts

*”Happiness isn’t doing what you want to do- It’s doing what you don’t want to do and being glad you did it!” - Jesse Evans Smith (examples: meditation, prayer, exercise, breakthrough work etc.)

*The specific path you determine- the choices you make are not the issue. The issue is how you make your choices, The issue is walking the “Path of Peace” (See talk below). When YOU are right (right with God, yourself, your conscience) your decisions will always be right.

*The puzzle of life: a) We come to earth and screw up. b) It hurts like hell (on either end of screw ups). c) We praise God for the journey, commune with him, walk in His paths and trust He will make weak things strong and consecrate all that happens to us for our good.
