John Canaan and his wife Narelle

John is known for his soulful renditions of inspiration favorites and for his stirring “life and relationships” music. What If I Loved You (one of John’s songs) became the #1 song throughout the Utah & Idaho area some years ago. You’re Not Alone, another recording of John’s (written by Michael McLean) became an international success and was sent out to millions by the LDS church.  John has played warm-up for Kenny Loggins, the Pointer Sisters and has done a variety of TV & radio interviews throughout the west.

John has had other unique opportunities in performing music as a warm up for Dr. John Gray (“Men Are From Mars & Women From Venus”) Dr. John Lund (“How to Hug a Porcupine”), Mickey Rooney (at Utah Valley University) and even sang the national anthem at a Conners/Borg tennis expo.

John’s has often been compared with John Denver in the sound of his voice. His concerts are a blend of beautiful music and inspiring ideas. In this sense John is sort of Dr. John Gray meets John Denver. His concerts are definitely one of a kind.

John’s wife, Narelle was born and raised in Australia, moved to Utah in 1985 and became a U.S. citizen. She loves both countries & is proud to be an Australian/American! Narelle is passionate about being a Mother, Smommy (to her step kids) and Grandmother. John describes his marriage to Narelle as God’s 2nd chance for him to get it right and considers Narelle to be a “bouquet of flowers” (as a friend of his put it), right from heaven.

John Canaan has an incredible voice! More importantly, he has the ability to hold an audience in the palm of his hand. His approach is warm and witty and his commentary will tie his performance together in a way that leaves everyone energized and uplifted. He makes you laugh with his insights and anecdotes, then brings you to tears with his unique musical gift. I recently hired John to perform for an event. I have never been more impressed with a performance and can wholeheartedly endorse him as a world class entertainer.

Dear John and Narelle, There are no words to express the outstanding and memorable event you two created for our Woman’s Conference. Countless women said to me that it was the Best Women’s Conference they had ever attended! No doubt this memory will be a life-changer for some of the women who are struggling at the present time. I could not have imagined the strength and power you provided – you WOWED these women of all ages!”
— Bonnie Robinson (RS Stake Pres.)

It is exceptional for us to place in rotation as many inspirational selections from one project as we did with John Canaan’s Christian-Inspirational CD
