Introduction & Set-Up

Make this yours
Treasure Chest is a tool to increase consciousness and celebrate forward movement.  Please use it in any way that works for you.

Consciousness
Consciousness (my definition) is grasping and responding to the difference between what you value and what you actually do. Treasure Chest is a tool for you to see, daily, how congruent your actions are with what you treasure the most. Where your treasure is (your focus), there will your heart be (your actions). Miraculously, what you put your focus and time into will finally, fully, have your heart.

Money Tends to Symbolize Success & Abundance
We suggest money in this process vs. points or tokens etc. because money is a universal symbol of success embedded into our DNA. Consider the game Monopoly. You know it's fake money, but you celebrate and open up energetically the more you accumulate. Money is a fun, heart opening symbol. This idea is excellently described by George Kappas, M.A., L.M.F.T. in his "Mental Bank" program.

“Treasure Chest PLUS” (Bonus Process - Special Savings)
The simple “Treasures in Heaven” version" of Treasure Chest (left side of the app) is designed to count your blessings. As a wise man once said, "that which you appreciate, appreciates." Treasure Chest s serves to celebrate moving closer to your treasures. Money saved in your Treasure Chest, in this sense, is saved in Heaven and is a symbol of the inner riches of filling the measure of your creation.

The “Treasure Chest PLUS” (right side of the app) integrates a bonus process- one that is usually deeply needed in our lives; SAVING MONEY vs. living on the edge. In “Treasure Chest PLUS” you are adding an extra layer of incentive to come through for yourself and your family. Examples of things to save for:
a) Down payment on a home
b) Emergency savings fund
c) New car (vs. making payments)
d) College funds
e) Sanity Saver / Fun Savings i.e. Family Kyac, Vacation, or monthly massage (Obviously this kind of savings tends to get out of hand, but a certain amount makes sense).

Multiplying Your Abundance
Another reason Special Savings is used to create extra motivation is that it is something a husband and wife usually agree on vs. saving for new golf clubs (common for men) or shoes (common for ladies). Because you both see savings as important, you will fell like you’re on the same team and be more likely to to cheer each other on in mastering your habits, maintaining your streaks and moving money into savings.

Many mistakenly equate “abundance” or living abundantly with a willingness to spend without worry- with not being “cheap”, with buying whatever you think you need, etc. The true meaning of abundance, in my opinion, includes 3 dimensions: 1) Consciously directing the flow of your spending in a way that results in having money to spend on what you actually want. 2) Living in gratitude, before, during and after every single financial blessing on the way to your financial goals and,
3) Giving to others, even when it’s hard, and doing so for the joy of giving. Giving, especially when it’s hard, opens your heart, increases your joy and humility and because of this, tends to open the windows of heaven in every way, including financially.

Treasure Chest is designed to synergize a) the power of consciousnesses (comparing your values with your actions), b) the fun and heart-opening motivation of paying yourself in Treasure Chest (T.C.) money, c) taking it even further by converting a part of this T.C. money to Special Savings and d) holding space (as they say) for what you want by saving for it i.e. down payment for a house, a new building for your business, a new car etc. which brings you back to the actions (habits) leading to what you value. This is a powerful and synergistic circle.

Extra Set Up Notes
1)
Determine the total possible income value for a day, based on actually doing what you value. An inspiring amount is about twice as much as the amount of real money you make at your real work. So if you make $200 a day at your job, you could make your total possible Treasure Chest Money $400 a day.  This amount (plus bonuses) occurs as realistic to your brain and sustains motivation.

2) Determine your treasures and the monetary value of actions leading to these treasures i.e. “I treasure health. I value exercise at $30.” As you consider your treasures (what you value), pick an action that you are currently struggling to do consistently. The more important the action is and the harder it is to be consistent with, the more money this action is worth, as long as it all adds up to $400 a day (or whatever your total possible daily “Treasure Chest” income is).

3) Develop affirmations in the optional, “Visions Board / Affirmations” tab: Check in with your heart in developing affirmative mission-statement type descriptions of your treasures. I've included some personal examples in the template. Pictures, vision boards and affirmations can be very helpful, however, the focus of Treasure Chest is action.

Treasures In Heaven PLUS:
3) Allocate a percentage of your real income (i.e. 1 to 5%) toward Special Savings; (See above)

Simply listing habits and tracking them is a great start. Insuring your success in key habits requires "blocking time" in your google calendar. This is how to get your life back! If you leave your time to randomness, you are stealing from your greatness!

Treasure Chest - Doing It

Beginning or at some point in the day - Review goals (treasures)
At the beginning and end of each day, overview your treasures (your goals). Review and say out loud whichever affirmations you are drawn to (perhaps using the “Visions Board / Affirmations” tab.)

Make sure that planning your day is part of one of your morning Habit Stacks, including blocking out time in your google calendar for important action. See Brendon’s video above.

Do your Treasure Chest at the end of each day
To start your Treasure Chest accounting over each day, click into the very top of the "A" column. This will select all the check-boxes. Then click the space bar on your keyboard, twice. This part can only be done on a computer.

Sometime Toward the End of the Day - Check, celebrate, affirm
At the end of each day, no matter what you’ve done or haven’t done open your computer and meet with your “Treasure Chest.” Check your action boxes, manually record the total for today, then type your affirmation (Type this fresh each day vs. letting the program copy it for you). This process is the No.1 action of every day. If you will commit to just to do this, everything else will eventually follow.

During this check-in process, contemplate how completing these actions leads to your treasures. Meditate for a moment on the glory of your goals and treasures. Perhaps say out loud an affirmation connected to each treasure. Allow yourself to feel and live in the full unfolding of your goals (your treasures).

Sad, lonely, hungry, check boxes.jpg

Don't strive for your treasures (goals) or resist where you currently are with them. Thank God, in advance for fully opening these treasures into existence! Let your accomplishments today (the actions you took) sink deep into a heart of gratitude.

Note that the "Bonus" row (in your action list, should you opt to keep it) is for extra wonderful progress on any action related to any of your treasures (or goals) i.e. being extra attentive and non-defensive to your spouse when he or she attempts to make an unloaded request.

Click here and go to the bottom of the page for all other instructions on using “Treasure Chest.”

Journal
To cap off your your “Treasure Chest” session (which may only take 2 minutes), George Kappas recommends listing 3 to 10 things in your journal that went well or worked well for you in connection with key actions (actions leading you closer to your goals, visions and treasures).

Counsel with God
Ask your Heavenly Father, "what am I not seeing about how to get even closer?" or "How am I blocking what you are trying to do through me?" or "What could I do, in my approach to each day, to become even more congruent (in my actions), with my treasures (with what's in my heart)?"  Record your answer(s) in your journal. Note: This doesn't need to take long- maybe a minute or two at the very most.
