David Tolk's music has been a huge part of my life for years.

Last year, Narelle & I had the opportunity to have dinner with David and his wife Lisa. After dinner he was playing some oldies on the piano & said “John, I think you’d sound great on ‘Time In a Bottle'."

I love this song! It was a treasure to record it with David.

I love the feeling his piano brought to it- like the “time” Jim Croce wrote about was turned into eternity.

Jim Croce married his wife Ingrid in 1966. Ironic that the man who wrote the words “you never seem to have enough time to do the things you want to do once you find them” died in a plane crash 7 short years after his marriage. 😪

While recording this song in the studio, & as I looked at Narelle, it kept occurring to me how wonderful life is- every moment- this moment.

I wrote a verse to a song once, “touch every page as it’s turning.” That’s how I want my life to be- like I felt while recording this- that every moment counts, because it does. It so does!

I hope when my “time in a bottle” runs out, each page I’ve turned- every bit of love I’ve known & felt will be like a warm light, guiding me from time, to timelessness.

I hope you have that same feeling as you listen to this.
