What is CGPS (on an ongoing basis)? 🤨

We strongly recommend the following, but Couples GPS should look however you want it to.

Suggested Conversation

How could CGPS look in your marriage? What do your instincts tell you? - not your busy calendar… your instincts. Please take some time either with John or on your own to put "in time" (in your calendar) whatever feels good for both of you.  

For instance... 

  • What's your goal for how many nights a week you do "Nightly Check-In."

  • Are you willing to take a walk during Nightly Check-In?

  • What time will you schedule your Weekly Inventory? (5 to 30 minutes, depending on what's up)

  • What's your goal for weekly date nights? How many? How many are just you and your spouse?

  • How often will you do a Private Retreat? How many of these will be over nighters?

  • What's your goal for how long of a "Get to Know You" session you'll have on retreats?

  • What's your evening family ritual look like? How many nights a week to you do it?

Record your conclusions in your personal notebook, or in a file (on your app i.e. "Evernote" etc.) In our maintenance meetings, we'll talk about how it's going, review some tips on making each element better or talk about adjustments that might make sense.


Dr. Jordan Peterson prescribes at least 90 minutes of Chit-Chat per week, plus Date Night.
